The world’s biggest supplier of aluminum and other aluminum products, General Electric Co., plans to build a 60-foot-tall (21-meter) aluminum fence at a U.S. Army installation in Pennsylvania that will be ready for delivery by 2020.
The $10.4 million project will be part of an $80 million project to upgrade the Fort Meade, Md., facility for the Army’s 7th Brigade Combat Team.
It will also help boost the Army by increasing its capacity to handle the expected surge in demand for aluminum.
The project will add 3,500 jobs, the Army said in a statement on Wednesday.
